The BrowGal + some interesting stuff

Hört talas om The BrowGal?

/Ever heard of The BrowGal? This is a brand from the cool Tonya Crooks, which I had the honor to meet when I was with Daisy Beauty in London a couple of months ago, she is an artist who accidentally became a makeup artist. I got a small kit put together by Tonya with products that could conceivably fit my brows, my goal is to have the eyebrow look “styled, bushy, and not perfect” going on. First, I’ll admit I was a bit hesitant about the products, mostly because I have loved the Viva La Diva Fineliner for quite some time, as well as I haven’t enjoyed shadows and traditional eyebrow pencils so much since I let my eyebrows run wild and free. Despite of this, I love more or less everything I tried from BrowGal!

The BrowGal The Convertible Brow dark hair 04 + Brow Brush

Vi börjar med mina favoriter: The BrowGal The Convertible Brow dark hair 04 + Brow Brush.

/Lets start with my favorites: The BrowGal The Convertible Brow dark hair 04 + Brow Brush. This combo is absolutely fantastic! Powders are pigmented, but easy to fade, the brush is precisely to my taste and the color selection is cold enough for my strange skin, that turns all colors to something warmish (do not get it). The packaging is also smart for all of us that travel a lot; small and with a mirror. Duo brushes are also a favorite here, canät bother to carry more brushes with me than I absolutely have to!

/The shade to the left is the most warm toned of them all, I’d say the two others are more coldneutral.

The BrowGal Skinny Eyebrow Pencil Medium Brown

The BrowGal Skinny Eyebrow Pencil Medium Brown

/The BrowGal Skinny Eyebrow Pencil Medium Brown is also a winner! It’s just hard enough which gives you good control to lightly shade your eyebrows and also makes the colour stay put. Double ended with a sharpener!

The BrowGal Highlighter Pencil Nude/Gold och Cherub/Champagne

The BrowGal Highlighter Pencil Cherub/Champagne Nude/gold

/The BrowGal Highlighter Pencil Nude/Gold and Cherub/Champagne great highlighter pencils wih one matt and one glowy side. Suits you who like to highlight with creams and pencils.

The products are between 14-35 dollars. You find a selection of them at Kicks if shopping in Sweden.

AND THEN SOME INTERESTING RANT!!

I don’t get it.

/Okay, to the beauty of it, which I think is really exciting … Most people who are interested in beauty do know that there is still a chance that you happen to buy animal tested products, despite the new EU rules. If you are not familiar with it, you can read a bit more here . One of the most boring and the most common reasons that brands counts as non cruelty free is that they choose to sell in China. In China, it is a requirement that all imported products, this means products produced in another country and are supposed to be sold in China, has to be animal tested. Fucking insane if you ask me.

With that said, you can probably guess how surprised and how many doubts I had when I talked with The BrowGals Tonya Crooks in London and heard that they are not testing on animals (and completely vegan, I think, a little unsure on this) – but selling In China! My bullshit radar started screaming and because of not 100% sober (liberally with bubble at the time) so I could not really understand how it could be, but now I know how it works since I talked to the PR people afterwards, and I can’t get my head around why not more companies do like this, because it’s really so darn simple. The BrowGal wanted to sell in China, but refused to test on animals and found a way to get around it – they started a manufacturing presence in China only for the products to be sold on the Chinese market, exclusively at Sephora, and thereby they avoid animal testing since they do not import the products for China, they simply produce them in China.

I understand that this is an expensive solution to the problem of China’s government being real dickheads (excuse the phrase, but it’s how I feel) if you as a company want to sell in China, but how the hell can not companies that make everything else right, consider doing like this? I do not get it. In any case – awesome by The BrowGal to not do it the cheap and dirty way.

If there’s anyone doubting this or want to know more, I refer you to ask The BrowGal themselves or to contact their PR people, which are the sources of my information. I have also confirmed that this solution is possible with other companies and manufacturers in the business.
